At our last lifestack business networking, the conversation kept drifting to the same place: AI.

Not in a hyped-up way. Just owners comparing notes on how they're actually using it. For work, for home, to save a bit of time, to take the edge off the admin, to make the week slightly easier. Everyone had found something, and everyone learned something from someone else in the room. By the end we'd decided the next networking should be given over to it entirely.

But not to the thing you're probably bracing for. This won't be a parade of the latest ChatGPT tricks, or forty prompts to paste into a box. There's enough of that about, and most of it is noise.

What we actually want to do is start something more useful. Every business has a part of it that makes it genuinely different. A way of working, a standard, a piece of judgement that lives in the owner's head and nowhere else. The most valuable thing you've got, and the most fragile, because right now it only exists while you're in the room.

This one is about beginning to encode that. Taking a small piece of what makes your business yours, and turning it into something that can run, and hold, when you're not there. Not an AI hack. The start of building a business that outlasts your constant presence, with AI as one of the tools that makes it possible.

It's our usual business networking: Friday 6 November, 10am, in the VIP bar at Planet Ice, MK Lightning training on the ice below. Come for half an hour, or stay for the whole thing.
