You probably thought of someone straight away.
The one who answers emails at the school gate. Who hasn't taken a proper evening off since spring. Who says "it's just a busy patch" and has been saying it for two years.
We'd like to give them a night off.
lifestack sponsors MK Lightning, and we have more seats than we can use. So at every home game, three pairs go to business owners who need a break. No hosting, no pitch, no lifestack table to sit at. Just two seats at Planet Ice and an evening where nobody needs a decision from them.
We call it The Owner's Night Off.
How it works
You nominate an owner who deserves it. Tell us who they are and why.
You can nominate yourself, but only if you nominate someone else too. If you're tired enough to put your own name down, you almost certainly know another owner who's in the same state.
Nominations are always open, so there's no deadline to miss.
Why we're doing this
Everything we write here comes back to one idea: owning a business has a running cost that never shows up in the accounts. The evenings, the weekends, the people who stopped asking whether you'll make it.
A night at the hockey doesn't pay that bill. But it's a real evening back, and for a lot of owners it's the first one in a while.
So think of the person you thought of in the first line. They're very unlikely to nominate themselves.
